SUS multiplies basic attention and oral health
- 1994 – 300 family health teams attend to 1.1 million brazilians. 2008 – 29 family health teams attend to 93 million brazilians. 2011 – 40 thousand teams
- 1994 – 29 thousand community health agents; 2008 – 230 thousand community health agents in 5,354 municipalities; 2011 – 240 thousand agents
- 2001 – 2,248 oral health teams; 2008 – 17,801 oral health teams in 4,596 municipalities; 2011 – 24 thousand teams
SUS reduces infant mortality
- 1990 – 53.7 per thousand live births; 2008 – 21.2 per thousand live births
SUS divides more vaccines and drugs
- 1997 – 35,900 patients in antiretroviral therapy; 2008 – 185 thousand patients
- 1999 – no generic drug; 2008 – 2,260 generic drugs registered by Anvisa
- 2004 – 27 popular pharmacies in 7 municipalities; 2,907 discount (health plan) pharmacies in 2,955 municipalities. 2008 – 504 popular pharmacies in 391 municipalities; 6,460 discount (health plan) pharmacies in 1,229 municipalities
