Aurélio: – It is well my little friends. Here is a very short glossary on SUS!

Pharmaceutical Health Care - it is the process of planning, purchasing, distribution, quality control and use of drugs for health protection and recovery.
- Health Attention - It is everything that involves the care with the health of the citizen, including basic and specialized care, actions and services of promotion, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation.
- Science and Technology - Actions of research, development, diffusion and application of knowledge in the areas of health, education, management, information, in addition to others connected to technological innovation and diffusion.
- Health Education - It is the process to increase the ability of people in health care and in debate with professionals and managers in order to achieve a health attention according to their needs.
- Work Management - It is the organization of work relationships based on the participation of the health worker as a subject and agent that transforms his environment.
- Participative Management - It is the effective performance of citizens, advisors, managers, professionals and civil entities in the formulation of policies, in the assessment and inspection of health actions.
- Health Promotion - set of integrated health actions, including with other sectors of the government and the society, which seeks the development of healthy standards of: quality of life, work conditions, accommodation, feeding, education, physical activity, leisure, among others.
- Regulation - It is the power exercised by the State to inspect and establish standards, rules and resolutions for services, products, establishments and public or private activities for the sake of public interest.
- Sanitation - Set of actions, works and services that involve the supply and quality of water for human consumption, sewage and urban cleaning service, among others, to prevent diseases, reduce damages to health and to improve the quality of life of the citizen.
- Blood and Hemoderivatives - Blood is the liquid that circulates the human body and that can be used in transfusions when donated or transformed into other products, the hemoderivatives, such as plasma and albumin.
- Supplementary Health - It is the private health care system of the health plan operators and service providers to beneficiaries, under the regulation of the National Health Supplementary Agency (ANS).
- Health Surveillance - Set of activities that provide knowledge, detection, analysis and monitoring of disease, including those caused by environmental factors, with the purpose of controlling and preventing problems in human health.
- Sanitary Surveillance - Actions of control, research, registration and inspection of drugs, cosmetics, products of personal hygiene, perfumes, cleaning agents, equipments, inputs, services and foods, among others. Operate to guarantee the safety and quality, prevent and control the health and environmental risk factors.
